What Does It Take To Be an ICT Student

            What does it take to be an ICT student? Abilities, Knowledge, and the interest to learn. What does it take to be an ICT student? For you what does it take?

            I am an ICT student and here we learn a lot about computers and the internet. After almost a year studying, I could claim that I know a lot about the subject itself. Blogging, making web pages and having fun. Being an ICT student helps you be a better computer user. Even editing pictures are also done here. It doesn’t need to be wealthy to be like me, or even have your own laptop. You just need your interest and knowledge to computers. It is fun and you are learning. You just need a desktop of course could be found at the nearest computer shop and also in the school campus and you’re set to explore the wonderful world of computers. You just need to be patient in order that you absorb all the facts and bits of information about it.

            Anyone could be an ICT student. It only takes for you to start learning now and nothing else. Have fun and continue our legacy at Ilocos Sur National High School.

My Dream, My Future

            I have a dream. I have a life. With so many abilities I have I can make them come true. But because of these hindrance like financial, moral support and sponsors I can’t make it happen.

            I want to be a man of many names. Not literally but be a man with many professions. I want to be a musician, a programmer and an architect. I want to be successful. I have my friends support and my parents guidance. I have to be a musician too. In my school I will start a legacy of composing the greatest hits in the chart topic. I need my dreams. Because, when all things come to me, then I will be happy.

            Don’t stop believing me. I have my potentials and I need you also to make it happen. Help me and I’ll show you my true abilities. It’s my dream, my legacy.

Change: It Starts With Me

            Everyday, the same things happen. From waking up in the morning, ‘til we go home in the afternoon. Social issues, poverty, corruption and crimes. Are we ready for more? The worse and the unexpected? Let’s take a stand for all of these. We have to make a change.

            I have my personal views for my dream change. I don’t discriminations. I don’t want not being confident because of that social ladder. I don’t want to see a child so thin ‘coz he has nothing to eat. I don’t want to see an old man don’t even know how to write his name. do you still want to see what I saw? Of course not. Being a student and a college in the future, I need to do my best to be an example for change.  When my plans start to grow and my views become much brighter, then I’ll start the change in this dying world. My legacy will spread throughout the country and even overseas. I will and I must be a better person. I will educate those who can’t because I once experienced how to go to school without something in my pocket, but not because we’re that poor but it is because of my aunt who is greedy in terms of money. I will not let these chaos come to an end. What? It is death. We need to be strong. I will start what others can’t by implementing youth programs and counseling to those who drifted their ways to worse ones. But these will never happen if you will not cooperate. Let’s stand together and be united in times like this. We will go through this together.

            Change is not bad, especially if it is for the better. We still have time, let’s fight and be free.

Kannawidan: The Ylocos Festival

            Being born in an urban place makes you away from other culture of different places, especially the rural ones. From the food, to clothing and even festivities. But my point of view changed when I transferred here at Ilocos Sure, particularly here at Vigan City. A whole new experience embraced me.

            I’ll just tell you about what I experienced with their annual festival the “Kannawidan: Ylocos Festival”. Preparations were astounding. Everything must be in place, from the lightings to the stage presentations. They’re very crafty and very careful about the things they put in the stage. From the back draft to the designs and clothing, no words can describe how beautiful they made them. They have their main highlights like fashion shows, contests and the souvenir items store. Their souvenir shop is full of handy-crafts. Huge vegetables and their famous “bagnet (deep fried pork chunk)” also topped their sales. “Malungggay” or horse radish ice cream also tickled my taste buds. Cassava flakes and squash noodles also gave me a full treat. Their furniture and other art items also captured my eyesight, they only show their creativity and perseverance to finish those great artworks.

            I never seen any celebration like this anywhere yet. Only here and I still love it though I’ve been here for 3 years. Truly, experiencing other cultures really gives a lot for your personal experience. Learning from others and being on the fields really gives a treat. Try experiencing the fun here in our country and remember, “don’t be a stranger in your own country”.
