My Views

This grading period is like me wake up call. It gave me all the frustration I could get from the studies to the emotions. It tested my endurance and dedication for education. But after all I did, still, it is not good enough.
This grading we must be awakened already. No more time for fun and games. We need to focus on a much more important matter, studies. We are in the crisis of seduction of computer games and social networking. We need to fight these seductions and focus on a common goal. We need to strive harder and burn our eyebrows to be a much better person. I can’t say much more for anything this coming grading. I just want to be at least on the bottom top.
Everything should be alright now. I suppose.

Chemergy: Science Club and Chemistry in Synergy

Science in action? Hmmm… maybe your mind is asking what I’m talking about. Science when mixed with a hungry mind for knowledge and a dedication to achieve something comes to a very incredible result. This is what our school’s science club is aiming through their theme, “Chemery: Science Club and Chemistry in Synergy”. Their minds are set through one common goal; it is to make science work with chemistry both in action.
It is the growing number of students that doesn’t really care about how science help them in their living that made the club to come up with this theme. They only know that T.L.E. or technology and livelihood education will help them make and invent new things and innovate them as well. No. It all starts with science. From the food you eat to the medicines you take, it all starts with chemistry; and together with action, it will be a much bigger effect to our lives. Making new things, improving the old ones and making our world a much better place to live with, these are the things that science aim for us. It is just one gut, one strength and one step away from us. Let us make a stand now not just for ourselves but also for our dying world.
We need science to save our world. They say that “science is the reason why we are experiencing these problems. A big NO. Why? Because science is the solution not the problem. They’re just looking for something to blame to. They still have the guts to blame the only thing that helped them?! Sorry to be carried away, but going back, science is a great institution and we need it more than anything. All revolves around it and everything happened because of it.
Let us promote synergy in science and chemistry. With our hands and minds we are the future. We are the next generation.

English Is Meant To Be Used The Way It Is

English proficiency, what is it? Is it helpful? What are the benefits we could get from it? Maybe these are the questions that circulate your playful minds and may happen not to get the answers you want. Well, I am here to post a blog about the said topic. Now let’s talk about English Proficiency and its benefits to us and the world as well.
Being able to talk in English is already a milestone for us Filipinos. Many Filipinos are now using English as their daily language. Inside their homes, in the office and even in our latest gadgets. But as generations pass the use of proper English diminishes slowly little by little until the proper way of using it is completely gone. How did I say so? I can prove it to you, tell me how you use your words in texting, in your chat rooms and who knows maybe your writing something wrong right now. It is the fault of these new trends and styles. They’re the ones responsible for the youth to imitate them. We are not allowing these kind of styles or what so ever; we must use English the way it is meant to be used. Let’s use English like the way we use Filipino. It’s like we’re making our new language already. It’s not hip or cool, it is not proper. When we use English correctly, you might just earned yourself an achievement, because when you use this language properly you may also look hip and “sossy” (a Filipino term for cool and hip). in communicating with other people, they could understand you more easily when you use English properly. They’ll have a more quality time talking with you than using more nonsense words like jejemon (the Filipino way of texting using symbols and numbers). See how useful English is to us? They’re just some and I know there are more.
So now whenever you type a word and text, always remember the way English is used. Have a more interesting topic and more fun talking with proper English proficiency.

"There's A Hero In The Class!"

Have you ever felt yourself wondering, in your class full of students just like you, with your teacher and just wait for the day to pass by? How boring is it right? But isn’t it amazing to think that in every teacher, even though you hate some of them, you’re waiting for them and still listen to what they’re saying; even though some of it are endless stories. From these experiences I am very happy to say that I have someone, my teacher even though he’s not the perfect one… is still my best teacher. My teacher, my savior.
Wondering why told you so? Here, actually to tell you the truth, I am not fond of getting along with teachers, they might call me “sipsip” (a Filipino term for always sticking to someone for their convenience) I’m just setting a good impression to them so that I’ll have a good image to the class. Day after day same things happen, but as days go by I began to get used to it and suddenly I also began to like it. When the days come that all of my teachers made me felt really sleepy I know that he’s the one that will make my soul to a boost. His subject was my worst subject for the past three years. I’m really lazy jotting notes in that particular subject; I’m also hoping for miracles to happen every time I have quizzes in that subject and, “oh my God!” my periodical tests were all failed. But here comes the magic, because of his strictness, his will to make us learn and make a person out of us made me at least on the half of the subject MAPEH. His words struck my mind’s innocence. And I can’t even see myself writing down notes and even reviewing! I feel like I’m not myself anymore. He’s the one that made me someone like that. I have passing scores in my quizzes (though there are times that I also fail) and my periodical tests are passing too. If my past grades were at their weakest, my grade for this year is passing. And it’s all down to him. My great teacher.
I am very glad to have someone as experienced in life as he is. I’m attentive in his class and I’ll do it until the last day of his class comes. …he will retire son… very soon. I will miss him and all his teachings, I can never forget a teacher like him. My teacher and suddenly became my hero. My Sir Bernard Rabaca, my Hero.

H.E.R.O.

May I just ask you one thing, “what is your basis for someone to be your hero?” because, within this times of change, we the students are the most affected ones. For us not to lose our way to violence and disorders, we have idols, or HEROES. They’re the ones we idolize and we gain inspiration from them. They’re the good examples that we need.  But for me, I also have one, but I can’t tell anyone. He/she/it will remain a secret in me. To be only my hero.
He’s one of a kind, or in other words he’s unique. He’s not the typical hero that can fly high in the sky or crush big bad guys on the way. He’s just like an object filled with pure inspiration in it. He gives me the strength to live the world just like I live with it when I was just five. He made my fears disappear. He’s always with me and I know he’ll never leave. He’s the greatest thing I know but, I know I could never be like him. He didn’t abandon me when I have the sweetest smiles I could ever have, and he didn’t left more when I have most painful times. He’s the one I only trust and he’s the only one I’ll look for when I need someone. Within this times, he’s the one I see that has nothing to fear. And I know one thing… he’s the HERO I’m searching for  long time.
I’m so sorry but I can’t tell you, I just described his significance but… he’s just for me. My friend, my home, my everything for now… my HERO.
“if you really insist, and you would like to know about him… I’ll wait for your replies and comments so check out my blog account. I’m willing to hear from you too.”

The SONA is Just a Piece of Paper

Another year yet is here, its now time to assess the things that our President have done for us; and his SONA will be our basis for this. The SONA or the State Of the Nation Address is here or just a paper?

The state has been addressed, but the job hasn’t been done yet. Everything he said there are just words to our ears, words that aim to please our minds but not our situation. In this world of chaos, we need a great leader to follow. Simply saying that “we are the boss” wasn’t good enough for us to be confident that the next year’s governance will be better…but no. we need application of these words and results to our lives. We are here for you, and in return you should be there for us too.
The SONA is now implanted to our minds and could never be erased, not the words but the things we experienced through the past year. We still hope for the change you promise. We need you our Boss.

A Letter to You

Dear President:
For the past administrations, our county had suffered too much. Then you came. A new hope to us. But what is hope if there is no progress?
Still our country is suffering through such problems. We can't compensate to these sufferings. Our poor families can't feel the essence of the new age. Their the greatest examples on how you --our President will start the solution. The price of oil is still increasing and still counting. If these continue, we will suffer. We can't take this any longer. Soon, our country will be turned to pieces if you'll not take action. Not just being your "Boss" is good enough. We need a leader who will stand for us and not just listen to us.
We are still hoping for the changes that you promised. We need you, in this times of hunger, fer and suffering... You can be our Hero.

Yours truly,
Angelo Vergel de Lima

Breasfeeding: Now Exclusive

Our children's nutrition is now at it's danger. What's the cause? The dwindling nutritional status nowadays. Because of the commercially available brands of milks, our Filipino mothers rely on them very much. Because of these, our children is not taking the right nutrition that will come from our Filipino Mothers. If this continues, these kids will suffer.
There are nutrients that were found in a mother's bosoms that can never be found in a can of milk; the colostrum. This essential nutrient is very important to a child's growing needs; especially in his/her infant days. we can never get this from a can of milk.
Now, because it's nutrition month last July, we are promoting "breastfeeding made exclusive". Because of this, our locals and even the government sponsors to promote this. It's no the time to make a change in our nutritional status. its our move and its our time to shine.
